Kitesurfing course – what does it look like?

The kitesurfing course is divided into several stages, during the first class, the instructor will tell you everything about the wind, its types, strength, about spots where kitesurfing can be practiced, and will show us how to prepare all the equipment – inflate the kite, unfold lines, attach them to the kite, put on a harness. He will also explain to us how to use the safety systems that every kitesurfer regularly uses in order to avoid dangerous situations.

The next stage of kitesurfing course is learning how to fly the kite. Mastering this skill is crucial before moving on to the next phase of training – body drags.

Body dragging is an exercise in which the kite pulls you through the water, but you don’t have a board on your feet, it is a skill necessary when you lose your board on deep water or when you want to safely return to the shore and the wind will not be strong enough to ride on a board.

The next stage is trying to stand on the board, i.e. learning how to properly position the kite, board and your body to be able to get up from the water. The first success at this stage is the most satisfying part of the overall course.

Then we learn how to go upwind and how to make turns and then we can call ourselves independent kitesurfers.

Kitesurfing is a great option for spending active holidays in places where we have wind and water and it also gives us the opportunity to use elements – wind and water – to have fun.
